For The Love of Art - Sarah Scicluna

As I lay on the beach or ride the metro, I find myself creating stories about the people around me. Who are they? What are their lives like? This led me to naturally want to photograph these so-called strangers who now have become a cherished part of my collection. I picked up a point-and-shoot analog camera back in 2014 and attempted to shoot my first roll of film. I’ve never looked back and nowadays my photography is a mix of film and digital. My subject, the stranger, has not changed – I believe photography is a conversation between the photographer, the subject, and those who will view those pictures for years to come. Be it through street photography or portrait sessions, I take pride in adding to the archive of humanity. Through my pictures, I hope to share a glimpse into the everyday strangers that we encounter in our lives, inspiring others to appreciate the unique emotions that each person carries within them. I’ve also had the pleasure to do a few photoshoots along the years. And while this is different to the street photography i normally shoot, i always try use the same approach whereby the shots are natural.
